Even though it sounds like the start of a poem written by a suffering persona, it’s the best line to describe every Eurovision fan, most importantly Turkish fans all around the world.

Sertab Erener, the only Turkish winner of Eurovision Song Contest prognosticated Turkey’s comeback to the contest. Fans were bursting with euphoria and Eurofans shared the good news all over the internet.

MTV EMA Best European Act (2009) winner and Eurovision 2010 runner-up rock band MaNga tweeted on their official account and hinted Turkey’s return to the contest. At first, it was presumed that the band would be the Turkish representative for the contest, but later it came to light that the band only indicated their wish for Turkey’s return in the contest. Since then, Turkish magazine programs were following Turkish singers and asking them if they would accept the offer of competing in Eurovision, if given the honor. Online polls were taking place and everyone was almost sure Turkey was back.

Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesman Bekir Bozdağ lodged journalists at a breakfast, in the honor of his new position. Upon the questions from the journalists, Bozdağ affirmed that no such plan existed at that moment. We still do not know if the statement is for permanent or the last decision. But we never give up hope.
